As part of the Break The Silence Blog Train hosted by Katelynn's Designs Store, I have made a screensaver for you.
Many thanks to Becky of Moon Gazers Designs for the lovely angel.
You can download it
HERE.
As of yet, my program for creating screensavers is not Vista compatible.
Ever since the subject of a blog train for domestic abuse came up, I have been uncomfortable with it.
As a victim/survivor of domestic abuse, this hits real close to home for me.
I normally do not go out of my "comfort zone" and speak about "me".
But this is an issue that needs to be discussed.
Domestic Abuse is a term that does not cover the scope of it.
Some families it is one abuser. In my case it was many.
I am now 59 yrs old and I still struggle with issues from when I was a small child.
Mostly I tend to hide in my home and try not to be noticed.
My life has been filled with hurt and loss and if any one out there thinks children of domestic abuse will be okay as adults, they are wrong.
It destroys something inside you that you can never get back.
It is vital to the well being of this country that we keep our children safe.
If you are in an abusive relationship or know someone who is, please, for the sake of the children, get and/or encourage HELP!
There are plenty of sites/agencies that will help you, so I don't need to go into that here.
But Domestic Abuse is a vicious cycle. What you grow up with, you typically repeat in your adult life.
This cycle can only be stopped one by one. One person, one family at a time.
I asked him how he could say that and he replied, "Your children love you"!!!
So as damaged as I am, I am truly blessed.
My higher power picked me up and took me to my mother's sisters home when I was 16 and showed me a loving family was not a fantasy.
This is how I did not continue the cycle of abuse.
I broke my cycle!
That is the true blessing here. I and my children were saved and I am most thankful.
In making the screensaver, I was looking for a saying to use with it and I could not find one simple and profound enough, so I wrote my own.
ALONE WE ARE MUTE, TOGETHER WE HAVE A VOICE!
Embrace your higher power, and help save the children!
God Bless You,
DeLoris
